Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 23, 2026

Webtag (“Webtag,” “we,” “us”) is a Chrome extension and companion website (webtag.app) that lets you annotate web pages and hand the feedback to Claude. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because Webtag collects very little.

The short version: Signed out, your annotations never leave your device. Signed in, your notes and the addresses of pages you annotate sync to your private workspace so your team can see them. We never sell your data, and we never use it to train models or for advertising.

Who we are

Webtag is operated by Wuf Labs LLC (doing business as Webtag), based in California, USA. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@zawolfe.com.

What we collect

When you use Webtag signed out (local mode):nothing is sent to us. Your annotations are stored only in your browser’s local storage on your device.

When you create an account and sign in, we process:

We do not collect screenshots, page content beyond what you reference in a note, payment-card numbers (handled by our payment processor, if you subscribe), or any data for advertising.

How we use it

We do not sell or rent your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train machine-learning models. What you paste into Claude is always your own choice and action.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that help us run Webtag, under contract and only as needed:

Within your team workspace, your annotations are visible to other members of that workspace. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Security & access controls

Your data is protected by per-user authentication and database row-level security, so only you and your team can read your workspace. Authentication tokens are held only inside the extension’s background process and are never exposed to web pages you visit.

Storage & retention

We keep your annotations until you delete them or close your account. Locally-stored (signed-out) annotations live on your device until you clear them. When you delete an annotation it is removed from our database; when you ask us to delete your account, we delete your associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with the law.

Your rights

You can view, edit, and delete your annotations at any time inside Webtag. To access, export, or delete your account data, email us at hello@zawolfe.com.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a similar jurisdiction, you have the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Our legal basis is performing our contract with you (providing the service) and our legitimate interests in operating and securing it. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

International transfers

We and our providers may process your data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

Children

Webtag is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Webtag evolves. We’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice in the product or by email.
